Zak Torres is assigned to B Shift. Zak moved to Jefferson County in 1995 with his mother and attended school in the Port Townsend district. After graduating, he worked as a mechanic, equipment delivery driver, and logger, and for vessel assist. Zak started with QFR in July 2019, graduated Fire Academy in December 2019, graduated EMT class in January 2020, and volunteered for QFR until he was hired on as a career firefighter/EMT in December 2022. Zak is in charge of fleet maintenance, SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) maintenance, and Fire Safety education at Quilcene Elementary during Fire Prevention Month. Zak is excited to serve, help, and educate the community he and his family live in.
