Address Signs

Homes and buildings must have approved address numbers, building numbers or approved building identification placed in a position that is plainly legible and visible from the street or road fronting the property.

Although the bright red address signs are often referred to as "fire signs," they are actually used by law enforcement, fire, rescue, and ambulance personnel to quickly locate your home or business during an emergency.

Address signs are not sold or provided by the fire district.

New or replacement address signs can be purchased fromJefferson County Department of Community Development, 621 Sheridan St., Port Townsend, WA 98368, phone (360) 379-4450. Replacement sign application is available at the link.
